Fee: $1250

Must have approval of Head Coach and should be 15 years of age or over to train with this frequency.
Objectives:
•Continual technical refinement
•Strength
•Working on all energy systems in a periodized plan
•Race preparation
•Refine race tactics
National team athletes must choose this to participate in an AWS Program

Program based on 6+ sessions per week including dryland, erg, flat water, & river sessions. (Pool sessions and gym membership extra fees apply).This may include support for 1-2 self directed workouts/sessions and some double day sessions
​
Participants must be a member of the AWA, submit medical forms and sign an athlete agreement.

Training Camps + Races, in and out of Alberta:
Coaching included (accommodation, food and transport not included)
AWS Race Fees (Harvie Open, Harvie Classic, Kan Open):

Fitness Testing:
Included for National Team athletes only
Boat Rental:
Boat rental for individual sessions is included when arranged with the head coach. Full season rental is available, but not included (see seasonal rental below)

Program based on 4sessions/week - 3 on water 1 dryland. This may include support for 1-2 self directed sessions in summer

Recreational program for paddlers with whitewater skills, who want slalom coaching and development opportunities in a fun, less competitive environment, or flexibility of scheduling. This program is aimed at Canoe, Kayak and SUP. Learning easier gates/half course competitions. All sessions will be at Harvie Passage for this program - can participate without a roll.
Participants can choose to join 1 or 2 sessions per week. ​

You must have approval from the Head Coach to join this program.

Participants must be a member of the AWA and submit medical forms.

Join training sessions, coaching at races, training camps and individual events. Please contact the head coach ahead of time to ensure that there is space!

Discounts are available for participants who are registered in programs, and are attending training camps or additional sessions.

Fee: $150

Recreational program for adult paddlers with whitewater paddling experience, who want to train 1x per week to improve their whitewater slalom skills in Canoe, Kayak or SUP disciplines. All sessions will be at Harvie Passage for this program.
​
Sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings at 5:30PM.

Participants must be a member of the AWA.
​
There is no official instruction in this program. Attendees participate at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety. Fees are a donation that goes towards maintenance of the facilities and the AWS organisation.
​​​
Gates will be set up prior to each session by the AWS Head Coach who will provide some guidance on training objectives. The sessions will not be actively coached but use of the gates will be co-ordinated with other programs.​
​

Full Year: $250 + $50 damage deposit
Summer (Jun-Sep): $200 + $50 damage deposit
Discounted Rate for 2nd+ Boat: $100 + $50 damage deposit

This is rental of a boat for the full season/year, and allows participants to take the boat home, fit it for them, ensure the same boat is available, and use it outside of programmed sessions.
​
Please arrange this with the head coach, and pay using the form linked. Participants must be a member of the AWA.

Race Entries are managed through the Alberta Whitewater Association (AWA) website. All competitors MUST be members of the AWA to participate in events.
​
If you register in a program that includes race entry fees, you still need to register to be included in each race.
​

Slalom Social Nights at the Kan!
​
These sessions are FREE to join, and are unofficial, uninstructed whitewater slalom sessions, with other paddlers in the community. After you submit the form, you will be added to the WhatsApp Group to discuss meeting points and updates.
​
Attendees participate at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety.
To keep our volunteer organizers safe and insured, we require you to have an AWA membership (Individual membership is $15)
As a member of a local paddling club, you may already be registered, please check with them.
